ILM Programmes

Coaching & Mentoring: Training Coaches is what we do!

Level 3: Certificate in Coaching:

Level 3: Credit Value: 13.
Course Fee: £1095 plus VAT

This course aims to equip people who are either in their first management role, or are team leaders and first line managers. It is an ideal introduction to coaching and provides them with the necessary tools, knowledge and confidence to coach people as part of their normal role.

Managers have normally demonstrated high standards of performance in their occupational role prior to becoming managers or team leaders, and because of their expertise, they may be expected to help others develop similar levels of competence, and this can include coaching or mentoring individuals. This qualification is designed to develop the knowledge and skills required by managers in undertaking this responsibility.

Three Mandatory Units:

8577-300 Understanding Good Practice in Workplace Coaching
8577-302 Undertaking an Extended Period of Coaching in the Workplace
8577-303 Reflecting on Workplace Coaching Skills

Level 5: Certificate in Coaching:

Level 5: Credit Value: 13.
Course Fee: £1395 plus VAT

This qualification is ideal for managers with significant responsibility for coaching and mentoring as part of their day to day role. It also serves as a good foundation for those seeking to move into a developmental role or start a career as a freelance coach and mentor.

There are three mandatory units, one including the planning, delivery and review of at least 12 hours of coaching and mentoring in the workplace.

8580-500 Understanding the Skills, Principles and Practice of Effective Management Coaching and Mentoring
8580-501 Undertaking Management Coaching or Mentoring in the Workplace
8580-503 Reviewing Own Ability as a Management Coach or Mentor

Level 5: Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring:

Level 5: Credit Value: 37.
Course Fee £1795 plus VAT

The Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring builds upon Level 5 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring qualification but requires an extended period of 100 hours of coaching and mentoring, with multiple clients. It also includes an added focus on using supervision and reflective review to develop individual practice.

Three Mandatory Units:

8580-500 Understanding the Skills, Principles and Practice of Effective Management Coaching and Mentoring
8580-502 Undertaking an Extended Period of Management Coaching or Mentoring in the Workplace
8580-503 Reviewing Own Ability as a Management Coach or Mentor

Where an individual has previously gained the Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring in Management at Level 5 they may apply to do Unit 8580-502 as a separate unit to progress to the Diploma. Please discuss this with NGA for details of the additional unit requirements and fees.

Course Structure

Our Coaching programmes are delivered through a series of workshops supplemented with tutorials, observations and support. The workshops provide the essential underpinning knowledge required by the qualification and an opportunity for essential skills development. An interactive context enables participants to explore and experience various coaching models associated with personal, professional and performance coaching. Delegates are then required to apply their existing or newly gained knowledge and skills through coaching sessions within their workplace.

In House Solutions:

We also deliver these courses within an organisation where there is an eagerness to introduce coaching and mentoring or to promote a coaching culture. We can assist employers and staff to develop an effective strategy and transition to the integration of coaching and mentoring, training coaches and managers to cascade their learning and skills through the organisation. Significant gains can be made where a number of staff within an organisation experience their learning together. Real cultural and organisational change results can be achieved. Working with a minimum of 8 delegates we can deliver our ILM accredited programmes in house.
